Build the selection around your duty

Solids passage

Maximum particle size, grading, shape and the presence of occasional oversize material.

Transfer duty

Mixture flow, total head, density, pipeline length and sedimentation risk.

Wear and inlet conditions

Abrasiveness, available suction head, inlet geometry and the desired maintenance approach.

The brochure includes an AMG family selection chart. It is not a tabulated model duty guarantee. Request the selected curve, speed and maximum passage.

Need a model-specific curve?

Provide the actual slurry and operating point so the proposed model, speed and material can be reviewed together.

Gravel Pump construction and operation

Gravel pumps handle sand, gravel, mud and coarse-particle mixtures where the available flow passage is a key selection factor. The supplied slurry brochure shows a single-casing gravel arrangement and an exploded wet end. It identifies dredging, sand reclamation and other coarse-solids transfer applications.

Selection must consider the largest particle, the particle-size distribution and the actual solids concentration together. Maximum passage is model-specific; a large suction flange alone does not define the solids a pump can pass. Review inlet geometry, pipeline velocity, wear material and maintenance access before agreeing the complete pump set.

  • Large-passage directionCheck the proposed impeller and casing passage against the largest expected solids.
  • Replaceable wear componentsIdentify the casing, impeller, throatbush and seal components from the gravel-pump drawing.
  • Installation around coarse solidsAvoid an inlet layout that encourages settling or restricts the available passage.

Pump questions

Can inlet diameter be used as maximum particle size?
No. Flange diameter and solids passage describe different features. The selected impeller, casing geometry and material determine the relevant passage and wear constraints.
How is the pump selected?
Start with flow, total dynamic head, slurry density, solids concentration and size, temperature, chemistry and installation. Review these together on the applicable curve.
Are the images dimensional drawings?
Catalogue drawings show the source construction. Family exterior references and illustrative components are labelled. Use the selected model’s approved arrangement drawing for dimensions and installation.
What is included in the quotation?
The selected supply scope, materials, interfaces, inspection requirements, spares and documents must be agreed in the quotation. An illustration alone does not define the delivered equipment.
What if there is no numerical table on this page?
Send the operating requirement for a model-specific curve review. A product introduction or family envelope cannot replace a selected pump curve.
How do I use this enquiry form?
Choose any model, installation and supply options above, complete the required fields, and prepare a draft. Review it before copying, downloading or opening it in your email application.
