SLURRY HANDLING

Heavy-Duty Slurry Pump

Heavy wear components. A duty-led selection.

The AMM heavy-duty slurry pump uses thick wear components and a heavy bearing frame for abrasive slurry duties. Describe the solids, concentration, flow and head so that wetted materials, shaft sealing and the drive arrangement can be reviewed together.

Build the selection around your duty

Slurry severity

Solids density, concentration, hardness, shape and size distribution.

Operating envelope

Normal flow and head, low-flow operation, starts per day and expected process changes.

Serviceability

Wet-end access, lifting capacity, liner replacement method and initial wear spares.

The source describes heavy-duty construction but does not establish a separate AMM performance table. AM model ratings are not transferred to this pump.

Need a model-specific curve?

Provide the actual slurry and operating point so the proposed model, speed and material can be reviewed together.

Heavy-Duty Slurry Pump construction and operation

The heavy-duty slurry direction is grouped with the horizontal AM family in the supplied manual. The construction discussion identifies thick wear components and a heavy bearing frame for demanding slurry transfer. The hydraulic duty, particle properties and wear-material choice still determine whether a proposed pump is suitable.

Dense slurry can change absorbed power and wear behaviour. Describe the solids concentration by weight or volume, the liquid and solids densities, the maximum particle size and the normal operating range. Replacement access, liner availability and the maintenance method should be considered alongside the initial pump selection.

  • Heavy-duty constructionReview wet-end thickness, shaft support and replaceable components on the proposed assembly drawing.
  • Wear planning from the startIdentify the impeller, liners and seal parts to include in the initial spare-parts scope.
  • A complete slurry specificationProvide concentration, size distribution and hardness instead of a medium name alone.

Pump questions

Does heavy-duty construction define the performance?
No. Construction identifies a design direction. Flow, head, power, speed and allowable pressure must come from the selected configuration and its applicable performance curve.
How is the pump selected?
Start with flow, total dynamic head, slurry density, solids concentration and size, temperature, chemistry and installation. Review these together on the applicable curve.
Are the images dimensional drawings?
Catalogue drawings show the source construction. Family exterior references and illustrative components are labelled. Use the selected model’s approved arrangement drawing for dimensions and installation.
What is included in the quotation?
The selected supply scope, materials, interfaces, inspection requirements, spares and documents must be agreed in the quotation. An illustration alone does not define the delivered equipment.
What if there is no numerical table on this page?
Send the operating requirement for a model-specific curve review. A product introduction or family envelope cannot replace a selected pump curve.
How do I use this enquiry form?
Choose any model, installation and supply options above, complete the required fields, and prepare a draft. Review it before copying, downloading or opening it in your email application.
